Cambelts and Bose speakers

Post by rblanford » Wed Oct 22, 2003 9:32 pm

Hi gents. Would appreciate a bit of advice on 2 issues:
1) Just coming up to 40,000 miles, bog stock RS4. Any advice on cambelt change costs and where to go in Surrey/W London area, normally use Guildford Audi but not been too impressed. Also, do you lose your warranty if you go to a non accredited dealer (can they tell?), and how critical is it they are done on the nail? I've a normal service due in about 5/6,000 miles (would be about 44K by then).
2) Anyone had any problems with the standard Bose speakers? I've blown at least one, possibly two (didn't think I was playing them that loud), at 2.5 y/o do you still get them done under warranty? If you can't get them under warranty anyone got any idea of cost and where to get some decent replacements that don't break the bank?
3) Seem to remember lots of discussion months ago on this but after 8K miles on them IMHO Goodyear F1 Eagle seem to work pretty well, certainly better than either Michelin or Pirelli. Start of another tyre debate?

You could try Epsom Audi. I have been pretty pleased with them and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

If the Audi warranty works like the VW warranty then you shouldn't have a problem getting your speakers replaced as it is within the three years. Epsom Audi are also very helpful on warranty issues

For tires, just had this year Bridge S03 on my S4, don't really good imho and they already need to be changed after 10'000km. Will never buy again this s**t.. Had before F1 and could make 2 years and 25'000km, for sure I'll buy again this one next year when snow go away here..
