The worst bit is that even if you bought that car for £50000 and then kept it a year , it would still lose another £20000/£25000 ........

A while ago I asked my local dealer to let me know when he gets anything under £60k. I got a call today....

Looks like my estimate of £50k by Christmas may have been conservative !

I just picked up a pre-registered UK dealer car with a few hundred miles on the clock for not much over 60k, so I think there are bargains to be had if you have the cash.

It's phantom black with black leather buckets and pretty much all the toys, in fact so much that I can't list them all. Although, to be fair, the RS6 in standard trim comes fully loaded anyway. The only thing that it hasn't got that I would've spec'd is the uplifted limiter from 155 to 178 or whatever it is, although at between 20 - 25% off list price, I'm hardly complaining.

Fantastic car though, and yes I'm sure they will continue to fall in price, but so do most cars - I don't worry about it, I just get out there and enjoy it whilst I've still got my own teeth!!

I seem to recall the Autocar test a few months back saying that the car would be worth c£28k trade after three years. Well at £6,7k depreciation pa and a £5-7k dealer margin, that would imply £45-49k retail for a one year old one.

Yeh, sold the 535d last month and bought something easy for the Scottish winter - an a8 3.0tdi. Couldn't find an S8 that suited so decided to take a cheap diesel and have a look at RS6 next Spring. Thanks for asking.
