Revo Trial Software

Post by RevoKev » Thu Oct 23, 2003 3:57 pm

Please see the link below for a detailed overview of this saga.
There have been a few threads with mentions of issues after trial code. I know these have pretty much died out now but we did not want to be accused of ignorance. This may open up the whole can of worms again but we feel the response is justified and required if only for the few complaints received.

We've never had much anti Revo threads on RS246 as we like to think we're above all that sh*te re slagging off tuners but nevertheless this is very informative for all our members who have no doubt read all the views and concerns (correct or incorrect) on other sites. It certainly puts things into perspective doesnt it.......

Much appreciated Kev

Nice to complete the remainder of the story.
Hopefully this should quieten things down.

A long time in the coming, but definately worth a read. Answered a lot of questions that had been hovering around peoples heads.
No doubt this statement will spark off another 'frenzy' but hey let them ! em i say. Each to their own.

Thanks Kev for issuing the statement.

P.S yes i do have a Revo 'tuned' car.

Cheers

How do you find the revo chip? I've been wondering what the real differences between the likes of AMD\Revo are on terms of code quality\torque & drivability. I'm not after big power (yet) but you can never have too much torque! something nice & smooth would be the order of the day.

That article answered a lot of my Q's & joined the dots wrt std remapping vs revo.

Are there any chips which can be switched on the fly? I know the alfa\integrale etc have them - a nice dial on the dash for 4 maps - all switchable while you drive.. smart

APR can be switched whilst you are driving along if you have cruise control. You would though have to take your eyes off the road with the APR solution , as its not instant switching but takes about 5 secs or so and you have to watch a light sequence.

A top read Kev

Very well written and full of interesting information - I've learnt some new stuff this afternoon about my car from the article.

Very good post Kev,

All the information is good.... and im sure people understand why Revo has remained quiet.

I myself was in a small problematic situation awhile ago and now its over i feel much better.

At last confirmation of what I have always said. The loader the colour the faster the car
