Audi class action case

Post by gedh » Mon Nov 03, 2008 1:11 pm

Hi Guys,

Can everyone who has had trouble with DRC please contact me as it may be usefull for a "class action case" Sorry for the (american expression)that is being considered against Audi. The basis of the case is the known supply of DRC systems that have a history of failure, thus putting drivers and passengers in serious risk of danger by allowing them to drive a vehicle that Audi suspect will fail due to historic failure of almost all DRC systems on the Audi RS6 range.

Kind regards

Gedh

I think I'd need a little more meat before I provide my details to someone with 1 post. Could you ellaborate on the details?

I've Pm'd just to say I have had DRC issues and recently had coilovers to fix the issue. As long as he doesn't want my bank account details and sort code:

hi guys, what im doing at this stage is to build a list of RS6 owners who have had recurring trouble with DRC and its replacement, if you dont feel comfortable with leaving any detail thats fine, no pressure i will be pushing this one myself either way, but it would help if i knew how many owners are having the same problem, at this stage it sounds like about 99% of all RS6 owners have had trouble with the DRC, most until they changed to coilovers....

cheers

Heh, yeah, that's what I thought too. I'm all for supporting it, since I've had trouble myself and I suspect it's on its way out again, but the 1 post just registered thing did make me go hmm.. I have reasons to be paranoid!

4 failures in 10 months. not going back to Audi this time, F*ck the DRC. Coilovers going on. not happy as the Warranty does not cover my inconvienience or time. But am also a little paranoid about giving details out.

All replaced with coilovers after 25K from new in May this year only one shock had any fluid left in it at all, no more worries.

It's an issue on the new shape RS4 too. There's plenty about it on their forum too if it helps.

Happy to help. If we all put the cases together surely Audi will have to take notice. My system failed in February. Car not used and failed after less than 1,000 miles ! Audi say that its not the DRC or the shocks, its a pipe that persihed ! Steel pipes perishing ! So suffice to say I am happy to stick in with you. An article on Top Gear etc would also help. Anyone know Clarkson ?

Audi class action case

Post by SimonY » Tue Nov 04, 2008 11:25 am

Gedh,

Happy to come along for the ride on this one having already pinged Watchdog with no apparent success!

Mine was registered in April 04. Following "NSR shock leaking excessively", I took some sound advice off of the Forum and had the DRC replaced in Nov., 07 with just 23K miles on the clock.

Please PM me if you need more at this time.

Perhaps we could set-up camp outside JC's house on the off chance he will come out and speak to us....in fact, I may drop a note through his door....

I did 60,000 miles in my C5 RS 6 and never had a problem with DRC that I knew of - no odd oily marks on the driveway etc.

I know DRC failures are very common in the US, and the Audiworld RS 6 forum has a lot of people who are having repeat problems with shocks replaced and replaced again, and the central valve being replaced.

Sorry for pointing people to another forum, but it may be a useful angle to show that it's not just a UK thing (so they can't blame the roads here or anything!).
