Rs4 owners happiest around?
I originally got my RS4 due to my wife getting pregnant for the second time. I very begrudgingly cancelled my 997 GT3 order, realising retro fitting two child seats was just silly, and sold my then 996 turbo. I had to have a sensible family car, i.e. 4 door.
So, I did some research and came up with M5 or RS4. I realised I could never face the public in a BMW and plumped for the RS4. Since then (1.5 years ago) I have been continually amazed at how good the motor is, better in fact than the porsches in almost every way.
Recently, I have hankered for more power and with the kids being older and able to both fit in forward facing chairs I am thinking about a 997 turbo. However, reading the views and opinions on several chat forums, specifically piston heads, the average porsche owner seems to live in perpetual fear of depreciation and worry that thier motors going to fall to bit. In short, they are so negative. And its not just them - new M3 owners aren't much better.
In comparrison, you guys seem so chip about the motors. So it begs the question, are RS4 owners the happiest around?

Other than the continual DRC issues, I love the thing.

Unfortunately my current life style of commuting to and from work in traffic combined with having a young family means I just don’t get the chance to push and enjoy the car as much as I would like to.
That said did have a blast last night which helped to remind me of just how much fun this car can be as well as being all things sensible!
When I’m not having niggley, pathetic warranty issues yes - the RS makes me a happy boy.

Mine has been back in the shop having DRC done AGAIN.
However, have been lent a TT 2.0 turbo (FWD) and whilst beautifully screwed together it reminds you 100% of how (a) bloodt quick the RS is and (b) how incredibly tractable 420bhp is with the right chassis. It's barely damp right now but the TT is all over the place under power - constantly flashing skiddy lamp even when you're not trying!
And to top it off, the dealer rang to confirm work done and said what a stunning example it was.
Yes, so happy despite DRC...

I purchased mine just over a year ago and its been trouble free. I have lost a fortune in depreciation but couldnt give a monkeys.
Its been worth every penny. Its the best all round car i have ever owned and prob the best i will as IMO there is nothing else out there that ticks as many boxes as the B7.
In short, yes im happy.
