Milltek question?

Post by booski » Tue Oct 21, 2008 4:54 pm

After Talking to the master tech at Huddersfield who told me i should definately get a Milltek. I just wanted to ask the opinion of you chaps who have them -

Are you happy with the sound?
Is it irritating on long motorway cruises?
is resonated or non resonated better?
Would you get a different one if you had the choice?
Have you had any probs because it was fitted?

lots of questions, sorry
any replies greatley appreciated

How do you stand with the Audi warranty if you fit one of these exhausts?

the audi master tech at Huddersfield said it makes no difference to the warranty on the car as a whole only for the exhaust

Thanks Booski, I had the same questions in mind.....Apparently it adds 10bhp.....adding a chip would result to a further 20bhp...I am getting it done next month

This reply is related to my non-res system with downpipes.

Are you happy with the sound? Yes , but lay off it 'round town!
Is it irritating on long motorway cruises? very quiet, unbelievable but true
is resonated or non resonated better? "better"?
Would you get a different one if you had the choice? would like to try res and see if the <2000rpm drone is deleted
Have you had any probs because it was fitted? None, 6k miles

The sound is really fantastic, but it is loud and I keep it slow in town traffic, which help gas too! Overrun pop-pop-pop is addictive.

however, i'm not sure I could live with a non - res without the valves! so probably best to have a go in someones car before you buy. I did that and it's the only way to work out what you think is right for you.

Jim
so with a non res with valves do you get the best of both worlds?
quiet(er) when you want it and loud as a thuderstorm when you want to cut loose!

That would definately give you the best of both worlds. The non valved, non res version is really quite loud. The other thing to consider is whether you plan to go for downpipes in the future, as this too will have an effect on the noise and drone. The only downside to the valves is that they practically double the price of the system. There are so many variations of the system you can have now its baffling. There are also black tailpipes available now too!

Please feel free to give me a call on 0161 776 0777 (Option 1) and i'd be more than happy to run through the options available to you.
