New RS6 prices?

Post by ARSEY4 » Wed Sep 17, 2008 3:23 pm

Noticed on the used car locator that you can buy a demo car for unde 70k already. There is one car there for 69k that has 400 miles on the clock and a few others for low 70s. Looks as thugh thee will be a bargain in another year or so.

Just been mooching around the Audi site and there are now 4 cars under 68k the one at 83k in Preston looks sadly well overpriced

Fantastic... Everyone has always said that this ones over-priced relative to what new prices of C5 was, there is no way they can justify a £20k price hike in only a few years. C5 was about £40-45k used at 18-24 months old and I suspect that the C6 will be similarly valued. But having had £35k depreciation in lieu of £15k.
Present:...
Lotus Evora GT410 Sport, Caterham 420R, CCM Spitfire, VW T2 Bay Window 1976

Past:
DB11 AMR, 992, 991.2, Yamaha MT01, 640d Gran Coupe, 635d Coupe, RS6 C5, Audi TT 225 Coupe, Astra with wind up windows, Citroen ZX, Rover 213, yes behold, a Rover 213... Renault 5

Exactly. I said back in July when I cancelled my order, that this would do £30k depreciation in 12 months, but a certain blinkered minority refused to accept this view. This is coming to fruition and I can't help feeling a certain amount of satisfaction. Not for the fact that prices are plummeting, more for the fact that some arrogant German financial wizard at Audi decided that they could secure over £80,000 for such a bland effort.

to be fair its not just Audi RS6's... if you look at the "prestige performance" Merc, Porsche, BMW, all are having great strides of depreciation as news today advised 20% drop in sales for Sept '08 on Sept '07 so bucket loads of discount deals for new affecting all of our residuals... if your looking to trade up then its a great time as although your getting less for your car, your getting a huuuggee chunk of the purchase price of your replacement so cost to change is advantageous... just have your eyes open and don't bank on them future residuals.
