Indeed, just taken one for a test drive and from order to delivery, 4 months. Ex demo available in 3 months, no discount either apparently.GardinerG wrote:I agree, who knows you may get lucky.Good luck but think you'll have serious trouble getting over list.

RE: Re: RE: Re: Deliveries are expected June / July
Saw an RS6 on Tuesday at the dealer, in boring midnight blue. Still in factory settings so no test drive for a week or so. However the salesman took it home at lunchtime and it looks stunning even without any extra trimming (19" alloys on it which are not as good as the 20" in all the photos). The noise was awesome and the running lights - in the lake-side murk - were imposing and impressive. I am reviewing my order of a Q7. Again.
Can get the dealer to drive one for 4000 km and get 12% off list, total time to delivery from order is 7 months. Resale is expected to remain high, like the RS4 although this could be fuel-price dependent.

Order for 2008 V10 RS6
I placed a £ 1500 deposit in January 2007.
I've driven the V10 for about 40mins & it was great.
BUT ... how can I give up my RS6 Avant 2003 (chipped to 500bhp plus MTM brakes) which I have had from new, is in stunning Daytona Grey having covered only 30k miles. Full Audi history. DRC problems. BUT an amazing piece of kit to drive & still a head turner.
Any suggestions please because I am finding it hard to justify selling my current RS6.

RE: Order for 2008 V10 RS6
we saw 1 yesterday at Glasgow Audi in black... to be honest I wasnt at all impressed... nothing about it says "RS" the wheel arches are supposed to hark back to the Ur quattro but look more like coupe quattro.
Perhaps being black just kills off any features but the red and RS blue model photos makes it look more agressive.
The price tag as well is a laugh!! 80k for an estate car....
the rear splitter being so high up looks like an All road.
a big no no for me! the B7 RS4 is the same, just looks like any other A4 unless your a spotter and know the teltale signs UNLIKE the B5 RS4 which shouts out the fact its been on a steroid course in a dark haunted barn on a windy night!!

You B5 RS4 drivers are funny. I have a friend who is an ex B5 RS4 owner who says exactly the same, but keep your dodgy turbos, flimsy cambelt and soft alloys and dynamically inferior chassis.
Anyway, plenty of people recognise a B7 RS4 Avant from a standard A4 Avant, even non Audi owners although I do believe colour does help accentuate the B7 RS4's look. A black one for example may be a litte harder to detect at speed unless you know what you are looking for.
Still get plenty people looking and pointing at the car in car parks, coming up and asking about it etc and on the roads (and no they are not commenting about my driving instead!)
As to the RS6, it still is a BIG car, and the arches, 20" rims and the rear aspect make it look far more imposing tahna standard C6 Avant. Haven't seen a saloon yet to make reference.

I happened to be serveral cars behind a B7 some weeks ago and was quite some distance away and still recognised it as an RS4 due exactly to the sight of the wide arches! So, no I personally don't think a B7 looks like any other A4. Granted, in Black it might be a litte harder to spot, but only from distance.
Having not driven a B7, I can't quite comment on it's dynamics, but I'm quite willing to accept that they are superior to the B5, based on the general consensus from those that have had both cars. However, these arguments have been poured over time and time again. Everyone to their own and what they can afford.
I have seen the RS6 in the flesh and I think the Blue colour does enhance the arches better than the Black and Silver, which are a little harder to spot, again from distance. Still a really wide car though!

I never have any trouble spotting a B7 RS4 from other B7 A4's & the same applies to the B5's.
It's not only the flared arches that distinguish, as both RS4's sit much lower that their standard cousins & thus they're easy to spot.
The harder spot i find & i owned one is the M5 from the M-Sport & the same with the M6.

Oh here we go again we are on the B5 vs B7 thing again, keep it on topic please!!!
I think you've gotta be a bit mental to spend 80k on the new RS6 when as you say it doesn't look all that and also as has been said on here the older RS6 is just awesome as is. I'd rather have the R8 and an old mondeo0 estate for the practicality

Hello Mr Cornishmoocher and Numberofthebeast,
nice to see u again....
Hello guys...
I do think the value of the new C6 will hold its value, if it was not for the so called credit crunch (btw is that why everyone is not going for this car?) and actually Audi stealers messing about...
Yes I do have one and I would not change it.
