Progress regarding DRC warranty
My front shocks are "weeping" but have not failed.
I got the same letter.
I look at it as a 5 yr insurance policy and there will come a point, no doubt, where I'll need to get it replaced.
If it doesn't fail in the first 5 years, chances are it won't.
My $0.02.

Looks like there was just one generic letter sent out. I sent mine as a concerned owner with no faults at this moment but have been apoligised too for the faults i've had with drc and my parts are warrantied until 5 years 75k miles too!

wait for it......

Audi have chosen NOT to write to owners who have not experienced the problem on the premise of not seeking to 'alarm' them.
I can understand this, as even if we feel the failure rate is unacceptably high, it isn't necessarily a smart move to tell 3000 people. Either way, whoever gets any failure will be covered for 5 years/75k miles.
There IS a modified part on the way but Audi have no indication of when.
I have ANOTHER leaking shock after 3 months and 1000 miles - might try to hang on until revised parts if i possibly can...

...and what's to say the new part will be any better!?ChrisRS4 wrote:The letter does state that their investigations "have not identified any inherent design or manufacturing problem". If that is the case, why would they be issuing a modified part?rjkflyer wrote:There IS a modified part on the way but Audi have no indication of when.

Id just relax about it. You have 5 years or most have a maximum of an additional 3 years warranty assuming earliest cars were registered in 06. Its a good result. If I still had my car I would be sending a follow up letter to Mr Hicks thanking him for his help (Praise is needed where due) but asking that Audi undertake to fit any revised part that becomes available during the period of the extended warranty that eliminates the drc problem. Still what do I know eh?

Following a phone call earlier this week from Christian in Jeremy Hicks office, I got the letter from Jeremy Hicks this morning.
Thanks to ARSEY and everyone who wrote - it's nice to have it clearly in writing that we have a 5 year or 75,000 mile warranty on DRC.
Anyone tried asking their local Audi Centre exactly what the relevant parts are? I wonder how many Audi Centres will deny all knowledge of the extended warranty?
