The oem oil cooler have to go but a differente one can be fitted on one side. The front fan have to go but 2 small fans can be fitted on the top of the A/C radiator

So you have to add the price for the oil cooler and the fans as well. On highly tuned (bigger turbo's etc....) an additional water radiator is recommended.

(sigh) and once again it all becomes just too complex, ups the price (or makes the car more fragile) and I lose interest at that stage. Just when I was getting all excited again :(

A good pair of big intercoolers with proper new ducts are not that cheap....and you still have to do some cutting to fit them as well.

A FMIC +the bits+cutting will be rafly the same ,cost wise.....The main thing is to gain more bhp the best position for the IC is right on the front. I have to say i was worry about loosing the oem look but when i saw the MRC work i did change my mind 8)

Done over a 1000 miles with the FMIC on road and did many laps on the Nurburgring as well. It is the best mod i ever had :D

The car pull really strong now, it did increase the output that's for sure on every exit of every bends on the ring, the ESP light was flashing like f.ck, even in third !!!

Attention is however necessary at the end of a lap to take the time to cool down the engine properly. On road use no trouble at all.Cruising on autobahn at 100/110 mph the water temp was 91/92 degrees.
The laser cutted number plate is great as well 8)
Waiting to see what it will be on hot summer day if it's still exist in UK....

Great mod , 100% happy

hello

is remaping necessary with FMIC or bigger SMIC?

more horsepower (intake pressure will be the same with cooler air intake)?

or less turbo stress for same power (less intake pressure because intake air cooler)

?

@quattrosteph: you have remap + FMIC or FMIC alone?

your not going to see any benifits without altering the mapping to take advantage of the lower intake temps
