Milltek exhausts?

Post by Bluebrakes » Wed Sep 17, 2008 1:55 am

Hi,

I am looking at getting a milltek exhaust for my currently standard s4.
I'm looking to get 350bhp (along with other mods) and am not too sure the best place to buy the system from and the sorts of prices i'm looking to pay.

I'm currently looking at the catback 2.25 system. How much typically? best place to buy?
Much difference between this and the 3" system?
Why do they call it rush hour when nothing moves!?!

Standard S4, but not for long.

where are you based? best place would be via one of the specialsits on here who are usually authorised agents and therefore can access the best prices

they are extremely over priced imho, dont sound that good and dont fit so good either, but unless you import a system from america its probably the only choice you have.

Can supply you Supersprint, which are better than Milltek IMO, and many others have found out too.

PM me if interested

If you want 350bhp on stock turbos, you'll have to de-cat and get a duel system(2.25)

I agree with Virdee. The supersprint is worth the bit extra for a quality bit of kit, you'll so regret it later if you go milltek like many on here.

Milltek fit great , It's down to poor fitting that they knock .

I've had miltek cat backs on my S4 and my RS4. Don't regret getting either system. Can't comment on supersprint, but AFAIK they only do a single system

You need dual 2.25. Do the maths on the cross sectional area:

dual = 2 x (pie x r square) = 7.96 approx
single = pie x r square = 7.08 approx

Milltek sounds awesome. The finish is very good and it is a recognised way to go. Pays your money and take your pick.

I think Milltek has been the way to go, because most people don't want to think outside the box, and many people don't know that there are other brands out there.

Milltek originally were very good, but recently have fallen a little, all IMO of course.

Supersprint have dyno graphs for their RS4 system, and having seen how they do their R&D for their exhausts, I can only assume they know what they're tlaking about!

There a thread here which may help. http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... torder=asc

I found £65 difference on the RS4 between this

and this

Not a hard decision :-)

The big difference between the two seems to be that the miltech is a dual system just like the original and gives the benefit of keeping to the original design spec of the V6 engine,that being the engine is designed as two 3 cylinder engines running from the same crank and therefore you can measure the emmissions from one bank of the engine separate to the other and this makes life easier when diagnosing certain problems which with the supersprint single is not possible.
Hope that is not too confusing.

The original exhaust pipe is not dual system! And even if it was, the exhaust gasses are mixed in the silencers.

I had a Milltek on my S2, and would happily have another (was planning to get one for the S4)

Ive just spotted this while browsing on ebay, has anyone tried one?
Im sure people will say its crap because of the price, but thats not really a reason for me!
Unless the fit is crap it cant be that bad or different surely?
