Any ideas what the B8 RS4 will look like (and yes Im gathering it will look like the current A4 lol), and have they confirmed what the engine will be performance wise?
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

i'm waiting to buy my friend's c63 estate which has the performance pack. he gets bored of cars really quickly and i'll let him do the depreciation first..... i quite fancy a v-spec gtr, but i'm not sure i could face the embarassment of owning a nissan (label snob).

My list (if practicality is not an issue and a sensible(?) ceiling on price):

996 GT2 - The "Widowmaker". Need one say more?
GTR - Performance per £? Nothing better.
B8 RS4 (depending on powerplant) - Make it a V8 TT and ditch the DRC.
RS5 (depending on powerplant) - Make it a V10 and give it the R8/TTS suspension.
Sagaris - Bhp/ton - we like. Servicing and reliability - we don't.
KTM X-bow - Coolest thing on four wheels at the moment. Euro is killing it.

But it just goes to show if you want to blast down to the Alps with a boot full of snowboards, there really is only one car to be doing it in....

Not at £85K it isn't....but maybe in a couple of years...when you might find a 715hp B&B one for ~£55K, yes....

Obviously a few audi fans on here :-). I'd consider the quattroporte - exceptional value in the nearly new second hand market.
Everyone is unique, just like you and me.

What are the quattroportes running costs like?
I keep on replaying the rs6 episode of top gear its really growing on me. Just wish it was nearer 50k.

I hear the V-spec GTR is going to be twice the price of the "standard" car !!
Mint Optic Pack saloon in Daytona Grey (Now sold)
B7 RS4 in Sprint Blue (Gone to a very good new home)
Evo V1 (wish i'd kept)
Numerous M3s

Audi UK lent me a new RS6 for a month while my car was having some warranty stuff done. I took it to the south of France for 2 weeks and it is awesome. The power is so addictive and the understated looks certainly didn't stop all the locals from crowding around it at petrol stations, giving me the thumbs up on the autoroute and from the police singling me out for some 90 euro fines. But it is expensive and so it's out of my range. The C63 has the same performance for £20k less, so that's more like it. If only it came with a manual gearbox!

Mercedes manual gearboxes have a reputation for poor change quality, so maybe the auto is the lesser of two evils?

According to one of my work colleagues who is an ex B5 RS4 owner, he thinks the future and the obvious RS4 replcement car should be the Saab 93X twin turbo V6!

How on earth do you wangle a 80k car no strings for a month? Do you have shares in Audi? :D
