Northern Rolling Road day - September/October

Post by Blue_Thunder » Fri Aug 15, 2008 3:27 pm

Upset by all these tempting Rolling Road days being hosted down South - where the weather is nicer, the cars are faster (well, we have no Northern benchmark! ) and the girls sunbathe topless rather than go for spray tans - it is only right that a decent Audi RR day should be run for us Northerners (and of course anyone who wishes to travel up North!).

As i'm keen to get my car back on the rollers after a few tweaks, and as both Grizz and Doug will testify - I am an inpatient bugger, I thought i'd take matters into my own hands and get the ball rolling on this!

A while back Grizz mentioned a rolling road day at Dyno Demon (www.dynodemon.co.uk) up near Unit20 in the North West. I spoke to the guys there and they showed me their set up (Dyno Dynamics machine) and some of the feedback from previous 'club' days they've held (including the S2 forum earlier this year).
I went to Awesome GTI earlier in the year and TBH was a bit disappointed with the lack of input they gave us. Looks like the Dyno Demon guys are a bit more keen and willing to talk through your results after a run.

I'm putting this thread up to initially gauge interest and also to see what dates are best for people.

Once we've got an idea of the best date, i'll stick up another thread where people can put down what car they want to bring, specs, etc.

It will cost £40/car up to 13 cars or £35/car if we get more. Come on guys, lets all pull together to beat the credit crunch! :thumb:
Also think they might be able to throw on some food if numbers are healthy enough.

Please select any weekends you are able to do and we'll take it from there.

D'oh, just realised this forum doesn't allow you to choose multiple options.

Might be an idea to click on the date you would prefer, but also write which dates you could do.

Scott, I'd go anytime but I don't want to pay £40 to be told my car has a poxy 265 BHP! There's a good chance it'll be the least powerful car there! :-(
Are spectators welcome?

Spoke to DynoDemon and they may have another club booking the 27th, so i'm swaying towards the 4th October to give us more time to get more people interested. We have about 10 up to now.

I reckon it will be a great day, and i'm sure Grizz can recommend somewhere local to get some tasty grub on the day.
