Post by M3toRS6 » Mon Aug 11, 2008 11:23 am

Sorry guys, moved out of the RS6 into a 4 yo 911TT... completely different car and more fun. Got an SUV to haul stuff now instead.

Yeah, but you realise everyone on the road hates you now? :D Speaking of which, I had my RS6 in for a few days last week and they gave me an A4 2.0TDi cabriolet. The engine was sluggish of course (gearing seemed odd too), but I was amazed at how many people commented that I now had a fancy car. Almost all were women to be fair, but there must have been a good 10 or so comments.

Luv the responses...typical...LOL
I have to admit it feels like being in a car with some of the same DNA (Tiptronic), quality build, great interior but also better around corners, and higher residuals;) :P

So funny when someone with one post to his credit starts to contribute to an RS forum when he doesn't own one anymore. Go figure.

I went from RS6+ TO 997TT. In hindsight, the worse thing I ever did. (Except for that unfortunate incident with the bridesmaid)

What a fool. (me, not you.) Enjoy.
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

Should have gone for the 996 tt like me then Bob, for what I use the car for it suits me much better than the RS6, more fun and don't need the 4 doors etc.....

We could always do a 996tt swap to a 997tt ;)

Get back to me with ref's to the swap mate :D

Have you still got the 997TT Bob? Love atlas grey and the spec you had.

With prices dropping on the 996 I've come very close to buying ... in place of the RS6 well no not for what I would get for it ... but prices are hitting 911's just as hard and now that 53 plate facelifts are hitting low £40k's having one as weekend special car is more & more feasible - best of all worlds!

Rich.
The Present ...
C7 RS6 Avant - Estoril Blue - everything bar B&O - Akrapovic only upgrade (... so far)

The Past ...
C6 RS6 Saloon - Phantom Black - lots of factory extras but no tuning.
C5 RS6 Saloon - Daytona with black Interior - Full Milltek with 100 cpsi cats - AMD Remap - Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers - MTM Bimoto's - Phaeton Brake Upgrade - RNS-E + Bluetooth + Multi-media player + Phatbox
911 (996) Turbo - X50 - Aerokit - PCCB

996T are going for silly money, but a better buy could be a 996c4s get a newer one for less, or even squeeze into a 997 C2s depending on budget, some people are taking any bid they get on these things at the moment!

Give a another month and I think there will be even more cheap cars about

Marmite, As Porsche staff where do you think 997 C2s prices are going then? As thats what I'd buy.
Present:...

Past:
DB11 AMR, 992, 991.2, Yamaha MT01, 640d Gran Coupe, 635d Coupe, RS6 C5, Audi TT 225 Coupe, Astra with wind up windows, Citroen ZX, Rover 213, yes behold, a Rover 213... Renault 5
