Whilst we are playing with pictures here is my Avant.

Funnily enough all the pictures are the metallic black at the moment, and a chap that came to look at mine the other day said he didnt like the colour. My favourite personally

im on the yahoo groups too. put the write up on there about the HID Conversion.

That'll explain that then.
how much more have you goto do so that yours is upto RS2 spec?

Power wise it's above RS2 spec, brake wise it's got AP Racing brakes so as good as it's going to get, just needs the handling sorting and a couple of small things - the RS2 mirrors and grill - not decided whether I like the RS2 bumper/spoiler. I've been meaning to do all this for nearly a year since I bought it but been too busy at work then moving house(got to keep her happy when spending money on th ecar!).
i cant really be doing much to mine mainly for insurance but have to use mine as a daily drive too.

I had a standard S2 before and it was about £600 - with all the mods declared this S2 is just under £1100 now - 27yr old(she's only 24 and on it - most companies won't quote becasue of that) parked in a driveway. I had a 90 20V Sport as a runaround between S2s and it was lowered - the weight of the car and the crap state of the roads on the daily commute really pi55ed me off. 2 tyres were burst on potholes in one week.

I'm 28. Just got a quote (for a laugh) for my 1994 S2 Avant with lowered/uprated suspension, brake upgrade, performance air filter, aftermarket exhaust, aftermarket alloys, 3yrs NCB (had my golf's Hi-fi nicked and then some other <beep> stole the car for the replacement stereo a few years ago) and a few other bits. ~£700 a year. Putting my mum (full NCB) down as a named driver dropped the price by £50, putting my dad (full NCB) on added £10!

Tesco wanted £900 but adding my new wheels took that up to over £1200

I am going to take it up just to give myself a reason to not slack off on the modding this year.

£1100 still isnt that bad. Im paying £1600 with 3 yrs NCB, 6 points and being 21 doesnt help.

but i spent a month of sundays phoning round for quotes and found directline and Trident the best two around. but i find it changes each month which 1 can give u the best deal.

as for the RS2 bumper i found a site earlier on today with links to different aftermarket manufacturers and there were a couple of different variations for front bumper. and im not reffering to the ugly reiger kit that was made! lol

where abouts have you moved to now?

Have you got the links for the bumper or pics?

I moved from a flat in Edinburgh to a house in Dunfermline - at last a driveway and garage.
