So i officialy run E85 since today on my S4

Post by S4guru » Fri Jul 25, 2008 8:13 am

So finally there is a gas station near me that carries E85, Today i converted to 100% E85. The car drives great and the throttle response is amazing. Since i run no Cats there is no smell from the exhaust at all. Starting this week i will start to retune my car to take advantage of E85. Is there any other Audi's running E85 currently?

Also E85 is $1.40 Cheaper then 93 Octane here in USA.

Interesting, would you say it feels better or worse or equal on E85. Do you have a power graph on petrol to compare againest E85?

good theory , the second paragraph is interesting copied and pasted -

***One is the elimination of bare magnesium, aluminum, and rubber parts in the fuel system. Another is that fuel pumps must be capable of operating with electrically conductive ethanol instead of non-conducting dielectric gasoline fuel. Fuel injection control systems have a wider range of pulse widths to inject approximately 40% more fuel. Stainless steel fuel lines, sometimes lined with plastic, and stainless steel fuel tanks in place of terne fuel tanks are used. In some cases, FFVs use acid-neutralizing motor oil. For vehicles with fuel-tank mounted fuel pumps, additional differences to prevent arcing, as well as flame arrestors positioned in the tank's fill pipe, are also sometimes used.***
