Fitted some H&R wheel spacers tonight

After a long, long wait from H&R in Germany, my spacers were delivered today. I eventually got these through APS (absolutely fantastic company) after several aborted attempts with other companies.

Anyway, as soon as I got home from work it was in my garage and wheels off, it gave me a chance to clean them up (again!) but dead easy to do now that they have been waxed. I fitted 10mm at the rear and 8mm at the front. 10mm would be too much at the front but the 8mm looks just right, also there shouldn't be any problems if I eventually lower it later on.

I would show you a picture of them but as 'tonyoverdrive' gets fed up seeing pics of my Cab splattered around on this forum then you are just going to have to imagine what they look like - looks good though.

I for one am not fed up with pics of your cab Same colour as my Avant, so please post some pics.

Also why the spaces? I can understand if you were going to lower it now but what benifit do they offer now?

You don't have to appologise, it's a reasonable question. The main reason for me fitting these is purely the looks, bringing the wheels out just that little bit makes all the difference to the look of the car - in my opinion of course.

Like all mods, they will not be to everyones taste and I can appreciate that but for me I think they work.

Have you any pics of the spacers pre fitted? Just been looking at other wheels and certain spacers have a slightly different curve/profile for centering on the hub and these might do a job! Thanks.

Hey Graham all you need now is a louvred bonnet!!!!!!!!! Yeah put some pics up, when I have my KW's fitted I am going to get spacers fitted so would love to see what it looks like before hand

Really pi$$ed of with the tips of mine. It's not the fact that I've got to clean them, it's the quality of the steel - it stains very easily and it looks like it's rusting but I dont see how it can be if it's stainless steel. All my other Milltek's have been fine but this one is rubbish.

Graham I'm sure you had yours done by APS as I did? I have kicked off about mine they look terible and APS are replacing them for me (compete back ends not just tips) miltek are producing new tips now in better S/S with Miltek engraved on them rather than how its done now.

They will be ready around the 20th of this month. So get on the phone to Ed and he'll sort it!

Also there are all different grades of S/S. I work on yacht and we have to be really carefull that our products and fixings etc are really high grade either A1 if in salt water or a2 if not otherwise it rust very quickly. I guess Miltek got it a but wrong!

If I leave mine any lenght of time I canot even polish the rust pits out!

SimonFV8 - i think you mean A4 for salt water use - the A1 is a particularly weak grade for corrosion - it's used for machine tools as it's good for cutting.

Common grade fasteners are usually A2, but so called 'acid proof' (and marine proof!) is A4.

Thats why everything I do goes rusty!!!! Yes you are correct and I was being blonde!!!!!!!!

Another way to achieve a similar result is to put the 275 width tyres on, if anything i think mine protrude just a little bit more than yours though that would make sense as I gained an extra 20mm per tyre.

I will have a look later on and post a pic assuming no one will get upset, I know they look good though

I was about to ask, has anyone used spacers whilst also having 275/30 R19 tyres. I have just had my Goodyears fitted today and they are just in line with the arches, if I used spacers I wiould have two concerns of them being too far out and rubbing.

Anyone tried spacers and 275 tyres?
