Have I posted in the wrong area???

If not, it would seem that this site isn't the place for RS2 discussion......

Hi, yes this car was owned by Sherv from the S2 forum, who now owns a new S5. I've seen the car twice in the flesh, as it were, and it looked to be a nice car. The dealer, Chris, is a good guy and sold me my RS Blue RS2 48,000 miler just over two years ago. I've kept in touch with him and he's been very helpful.

I think from memory it had an old carphone installed and hence had holes in the centre console. I've seen cleaner, as in less dirty, cars in and around the engine bay and underneath but overall I think it's a nice enough example.

It rides well and the suspension felt good when I was last in the car.
I would advise you for these cars low mileage is of secondary importance to a full and detailed file of receipts for maintenance and service work.

At any RS2 viewing, take a close look at the brake callipers. discs and pads. Top mounts will probably need changing if not done recently.

Good luck.

No 20K is to much.
20K can get you a cracking RS4.
I know it's the RS2 your looking at, but that's just an example of what 20 can get you.

My RS2 is LHD with 64000 on. I bought mine for 11K three years ago.
I think they reckon on about 3.5K reduction on like for like between LHD- RHD.
I say tops 14K will get a very nice car.
There are a few out there that have well below 50K, and are minters.
I think these cars are keepers, and very rarely come up for sale.
These cars would be the 20K + cars.

My advice, don't rush into buying one. Use the forums and google and learn about the car.
Try to see some in the flesh, there are massive diffrences in condition.
Finally, just an example. When I purchased my RS2 I had no idea it was missing it's engine undertray. Later found out on the forum what I should of had under there.
RS2 undertray's are not cheap

Good luck.

UPDATE:
I have just been advised that this black RS2 presently has running issues and is in need of some money spending on it to return it to proper running condition.

Hall sender
Wastegate corrosion
Tyres

FWIW, car is worth at least £16k if the above are sorted. At present, I'd pay £13k for it and no more. Biggest problem is I can guarantee the seller knows about the issues and I imagine that's why it's being move-on. He's had it since Feb and run it as an 'owner' but this won't show on the V5.......

I can't see why the seller don't fix these things, if it's only these 3. These 3 items aren't that expensive and he would get the money back when he sells the car.
