I would fully obliterate the numberplate though, it won't be hard to work out the full reg from you pics if you ever wanted to...

why bother blanking plate what does that accomplish?

People can find out who the owner of the car is from the vehicle database and more importantly where is it in order to unlawfully take it off your hands.

Hence why blocking out your number plate is just safe practice.
