Wheel Refurb - 19s but what colour???

Post by Golffather » Fri Jun 13, 2008 1:37 pm

Although the car's for sale I'm not gonna hold back.....

19" RS6 alloys getting refurbed next week but undecided whether to change colour or stick with original finish.

Car is silver btw.

Thoughts please, pictures of examples would be great :)

If I was doing it, I'd go for a dark grey, but I think that would suit my green well, for the silver I think the original colour is probably best....or maybe black......oh decisions decisions

With a silver car it was proving a difficult choice. Thought about anthracite but too dark imo for the car. Shadow Chrome was another option but again at some angles it's almost black whereas on a bright day at the right angle it looked superb.

In the end we went through some colour swabs and decided on the OEM colour but with a metallic flek in the paint. Under sunlight etc it'll give a great reflection whilst keeping to a standardish look.

Very happy with the result, however it's pissin down just now so pics will have to wait.

Sale is non-existent! Few calls and no viewings!! Must be the financial climate or fuel prices, either way if the black one I have my eye on sells i'll keep it.

If I had a spare set to put on I'd have sent them to Spit n Polish but i didn't so had a local firm from Bedfordshire do the honours.
