Produced by the Quattro GMBH engineers - was that the whole car ? - not sure about that...

Sprint Blue only on S/RS models - have seen this on normal A4's before...

Nothing special about the 220ps engine - there's loads around, even my 'pipe & slipper's neighbour's got one...

Styling more agressive than an RS4 - what angle is that from... :?

Good sales pitch for the RS though - mentioned 8 times!

Not bad car though...

There is a silver one parks by me and very nice it is too. Having said that, it ain't no RS and to be fair, should it even have the DTM badge on? Surely a car worthy of a DTM badge should be heavily lightened, loads of power and the suspension sorted - rather than a slightly quickler version of the 1.8tsport quattro.

Like the RS4, RS6 and R8 and unlike every other Audi including the S4, the A4 DTM has 'quattro GmbH' on the VIN plate rather than Audi AG so it's as much a quattro GmbH car as an RS4.
I've driven one and the chassis is far more willing to steer from the rear than my B5 RS4, I got lift off oversteer in the wet on a roundabout in 2nd gear!
Evo says its "much more than just a special edition" but they objected to the £6k hike over the standard 2.0TFSI quattro which is a fair point if looked at objectively.

If they'd used the new S3 engine which can be remapped to 320PS that would have been a bit more of an RS challenger!

I see a silver one round here every now and again too....

I have to say that between the turbocharged 4-pot Audi use in a whole raft of their cars and the 2.7TT they used in the B5 RS4, they need another forced induction petrol engine...

Bring back the iconic turbocharged inline 5 I say....the burble on that...its a tough call between that and the V8 rumble.

It would plug the 230-400+ hp gap nicely...as it did in the S2/RS2...

Why do I think Focus ST when I read that :-)
If ST MPG rumours are to be believed, it will probably drink as much as the RS4 anyway!

On another note, I have never seen a Sprint Blue car that isn't an S or RS, is it a standard colour or is it available on everything but only as part of the 'Individual' package at £1k extra?

Strong money for what is in essence a slightly blingy flavour of an A4 2.0T.

These special editions do not command a premium of standard prices, they only make them easier to sell.

Is that the same with RS4 vs S4 then?

They did, toughened up bottom end and K04 turbo (it is a de-tuned S3 motor) - they map to 300 BHP and rev far more willingly than the stock 2.0TFSI.

I wish you were right but I've just checked ETKA and the BUL engine code has the same turbo as the 200PS 2.0TFSI A4s and even a 170 PS version used in A6, oh well.
So far it's only the Edition 30 Golf GTI that's sneakily got the detuned S3 lump AFAIK.
