Those annoying Sportlines

Post by gmk666 » Mon Jun 23, 2008 2:01 pm

You know the ones.
Lowered suspension, big RS4 lookalike alloys, dechromed this and that.
Well one was driving towards me yesterday.
And before I realised what it was, I did the little 'I've got and RS4 too' nod and wave at them.
I just wanted to share with the group that I'm feeling a lot of shame right now.

Bugger.
I was expecting at least one of you to say "don't worry, we've all done it."
Just me then.

Body coloured wing mirrors make it more difficult - essential option along with optics pack

Got to say though guy's, there are alot of ignorant or blind RS4 drivers about. Roughly 50% don't respond to my advances. Maybe I should blow them a kiss next time!

I gave a nod to a B7 today in my B5 RS4. No response.

Imo the B7 is just to common as I have yet to spot another B5 in my area  :redrs4:

Not seen any B5's in my area, or indeed anywhere I've been, and I'm in my car daily!

Definitely far too many B7 RS4s around. Took a flight from Exeter airport at the weekend and left the car in Long Stay and there were not one but two other B7 RS4 avants parked there, both dechromed in black! I mean it's not the biggest airport carpark in the world and you've got three RS4s in it!

I always look at the wing mirror shape now to distinguish. From head on you can't really tell a difference in width / track especially when at 70mph and they are closing in on you at same speed on the motorway but the rear is distinctive.

I have waved / flashed lights at fellow B7 RS4 drivers and some are shocked, some respond. It's the B5 drivers I have found thus far ignorant, almost like they are too good for us B7 RS4 drivers to know .......
