Just took my car for its third service (83,000 km) - no drama's but rear brake discs replaced as completely shagged.
Was without the car for two days:
1. Day 1 used wifes car - A3 1.9tdi drove about 500 km. Have to say a nice car, quite quick and nice to drive all that distance AND still have half a tank of fuel left. Only problems, crap headlights (no xenon) so limited (by self preservation) to about 160 kmh.
2. Day 2 Audi loan car - A2 1.6 FSi. Agian not as bad as I expected and of course thrashed the goolies off it (obligatory with a loaner). Problems ? well everyone drives right up your backside - quite clearly a girls car. Plus I think if you look in the dictionary for the word "body roll" is will say see Audi A2.
BUT
Got my RS back and Whooooooooosh, even after 83,000 km it still feels fast as fcuk - love it, love it, love it
Falling in love again....

Doesn't your car always feel like a rocket ship after one of those service loaner vehicles?

Its cetainly does - even after 83 Tkm the RS still feels really tight, getting back after loaner reminds me how flat it corners - thing I really notice though is how in the RS I very rarely check my mirrors because I know nobody will be there

now i really miss my car, 4 weeks ago one Peugeot 406 driver wanted to start faster than rs4... and that's what he did... too bad he was right behind me... he hit my back... had to change my rear bumper and tailgate... as always there were problems with the parts, that arrived more than week after i left the car in the dealership... but the worst thing is that after the collision some problems occured with the gearbox, especially the second gear... it's really difficult to get out of second and change into third... what is more the insurance company doesn't want to cover the costs of repairing of the gearbox because they say it's impossible that the damage was caused by the accident... so i decided to pay for it by myself, i don't want to waste my time in court... the car is now waiting for the parts needed to make the gearbox work... and that's how i used Renault Megane 1.6 16v (!) for a bit more than a week and later changed it to Laguna II 1.9 dCi... can't wait to get back to my rs4 and feel the power again... but there is one thing great about those cars that i used lately - after the distance that made my rs4 use 2 tanks of fuel, there is still half of the fuel left in the tank of those cars... at first i thought something was wrong with the gauges ! 83k is nothing mate - there's a common theory (once the focus of a Top Gear feature) that 'proved' performance engines only really come on song after 70,000 miles. They raced two identical cars one with 12,000 on the clock and one with 75k on the clock and the latter was significantly quicker. It was a Golf VR6 I think...
A friend of mine has a Lanci Integrale EvoII with 130,000km on the clock and it pulls like a train...
