MAF sensor?

Also does anybody know where the alarm module/sounder is located?
The indicators flash but no sound.

Well I did a search whilst I was waiting a resonse on the thread, which leads to the MAF sensor.
I just thought I would ask the experts. lol

OK, any ideas on the best place to buy a stock MAF sensor? Just a regular 2000 S4 MAF sensor. Or should I just 'search' ;-)

Audi are best if you are keeping the car for more than 1 year, as you will get 2 years warranty from them.... its about 78 + vat I think.... its an exchange unit.

Alarm modue is in the driver's side rear wheel arch - get to it through the boot and then the access panel on the right. Been told its not hard to get to.
Is not the brain of the thing, just the hooter, but I think there is some resetting when you plug it back in - can't remember specifically though.

Thanks Guys. I've just e-mailed euro car parts, as they didn't have any parts listed on the site. I'll check out my local audi garage as well.

I've been told its more than likely down to the back up battery, which is situated inside the alarm sounder or hooter.

Does this make sense?

It makes perfect sense. As does pressing "search", then typing in Alarm Siren and choosing S4(B5) forum.

:D The good news i've fixed the alarm.
:? The bad news is the alarm sounder is really feeble.

So i may have to relocate it or do a mod on the alarm to make it louder.

One less fault code. ;-)

Do MAF readings before splashing out on a new one. Or disconnect it and see if the car runs better or the same. If the car runs worse, the maf is fine.

MAF readings are the best though. 3rd gear from 2k to redline.

Definately the MAF, I did some readings using VAG-COM and the peak reading was 113.

Soon as i unplugged it, the car went like a rocket.

Downside is, the ABS and traction control is disabled when you unplug it. As i soon found out. Nice fat 11s on a B road. ;-)

I've got a new one on order.

Installed the new MAF sensor. Certainly better. But it somewhat doesn't feel as purky as when it was disconnected.

I made sure I cleared all the fault codes before test driving.

I also changed the coding on the central locking module - so my car now beeps when locking and locks after 15mph. :-)

I shall do some tests tonight to see what the readings are.

You can't beat an MRC health check.

Had one done today. Excellent guys.

Also found that the diverter valves were f****ed.

All sorted.
