Graham,
If you are feeling generous, fancy letting Simon plug in VAG COM to log your car? It would be great if we could get a couple of 4th gear pulls from an AMD car

Foggy I'm not worried... I know where you work
Dunc, sounds like a good idea to me, hopefully it'll be a lot cooler than the last time we did this ! which shouldnt be too difficult

Re: Remaps
I don't think you should wait! But then again I am possibly a bit biased!
Honestly, any of the major tuners can give you a good remap. And I agree you need to try as many remaps as you can before handing over your hard earned. If someone won’t let you try it, don’t buy it. I know, that is easy for me to say because we have the trial stuff. However the trial is still not the full production code and if someone is really on the fence I will put production code in and let them test it. Trial software was not meant for the guy who wants and is going to buy someone’s software. It is for the guy who has no idea what software is and wants to have a taste.
I think we have made a mistake in our marketing (which all of the other directors were right…I admit it… I was wrong!) in the SPS 3. The SPS 3 is not toy; it is device that will alter the factory engine management to a user defined setting. This capability can help or hurt performance depending on the settings. It is designed for people who have a moderate knowledge of engine tuning. In hindsight it would have been better to only market the SPS 2 (which is dead simple to operate) and leave the SPS 3 as a separate tuning product.
If you are looking to put software on and forget it the standard remap will do, or standard remap with an SPS 1 or 2. I or someone else who works for Revo is usually at events and trackdays anyway, so if you wanted to have your car “dialled in” there is no need to buy a switch, we can do it for you. You will have all of the benefits of the program tailored to your particular driving style without the cost or complexity of the SPS 3.

Mitch,
Is there any update for the S3 code with reference to the above Seat Leon post?
Cheers

Well, I thought, as he was on I'd ask...
Re: Remaps
As the owner of a standard S3 I'm also interested in this. My A3 visited AmD early on in its life and I was very happy, torque was great and from very low down ( it pulled ok from 1000 revs in top and very strong from 1400/1600 revs). It was even several mpg better.
My style is not to regularly use 6 or even 5 k revs ( my usual work route rarely permits )so maybe the AmD style suits my driving.
I think I would prefer the serial port approach, as it now exists, especially if you can turn it off for service / when her indoors drives ( !!)
I expect to be there at the end of the month.

Thanks for that Mitchell.
I'm definately keen for multiple programs, ie. stock, Optimax and anti-theft. I'm completely new to the Revo way of doing things so just wanted to clear one thing up. If I want the above then I assume I have to use a SPS of some description.
Is the cost then as above ie. £760 or £820

Re: Remaps
New S3 code planned for the end of 03. Not a huge difference mind you, but a bit more selection in certain areas and a bit less in others. Should be more powerful and a bit smoother. We have also added fuel control to the SPS 3, not yet released to the public as we need to decide how much room we are going to give you guys. Nothing personal, but if you get it wrong.... bad things can happen.
Foggy -
What I was saying was if you don't want the added expense of the SPS 3 I will set your car up (using my SPS 3) and you won't need to buy one. If you do want to change back and forth you would need a switch. If you wanted the standard program it would be 499, and I can maximise it for you, or you could buy the program and SPS 2 for 698.
Either way it will be good fun. If you need any help on it let me know.

Re: Remaps
Mitchell, is the upgrade for SPS 3 on an APR chip? If so, will this be free as I only brought my chip about 2 months ago !
