HiSpec News

Post by jeffw » Tue Oct 07, 2003 7:44 pm

As some of you will now I'm the self appointed HiSpec nut on RS246. I visited them today to get a new set of rotors and some Pagid Blue pads. As always I got chatting to Geoff the guy who owns the place regarding new stuff.

The very large 6 Pot caliper (bigger than the current Monster 6) is now ready and suitable for rotor sizes upto 400mm. You can have it anodised in Black, Clear, Gold ....chromed(!) or powder coated (at an etra charge) in Red or Blue.

A 8 pot version of the vl 6 pot is under development.

A rear caliper including handbrake is almost finished and will be available as a kit around December time.

Currently HiSpec buy in rotors but this is about to change with HiSpec designing Rotor patterns which will be cast by the same company that casts AP rotors. Sizes will go up to 400mm These should be available in the new year.

They are also hiring staff to be able to provide a better service over the phone

Cheers

Jeff

It's around £1200 all up (depends on calipers, finish, pads etc). I've had my set for over a year and it's been excellent.

if they ever consider doing a Porsche look (cast) drilled patterend disk for the rear of S3's then i may be interested . (using existing caliper)

only ever seen groved disks as upgrades on S3 and TT's and they look wrong when people have had the drilled porsche set up on the front.
