Clean Car

Post by rs4boy » Tue Jun 03, 2008 6:15 pm

My car had a two days of cleaning, looks nice and shiny now.
Not bad for a hand job no machine polisher used. ( as they say you can't beat a good hand job!)

Right here we go.
1 Citrus snow foam detergent then rinse off
2 Snow foam then rinse off
3 Then wash with Meguiars Gold class shampoo and conditioner useing the two buckett metthod and wash mitt then rinse off
4 Dry car with drying towels
5 Clay pack car and windows useing Megs speed detailer as lub rinse off
6 Dry car with drying towels
7 Then Megs scratchX the car making sure to work it to utilizes the diminishing abrasive in it ( lots of hard work needed)
8 Then Megs paint cleaner
9 Then Megs professional hand polish 81
10 And then Megs professional show car glaze 7
11 And to finish two coats of collinite 476s
12 Wheels wash as car was dryed and two coats of Chemical guys wheel guard
13 Tyre had Megs Gold class endurance high gloss, make sure to work it in to the tyres
14 Wheel arches cleaned as car and finished with good old armorall protectant semi-matt finish
15 Exhaust Megs nxt all metal polysh
16 Windows finished with Megs nxt glass cleaner and rainx

That about it i know i have alot of megs but it works for me and you have to use what you have got. The one thing i have learn't is to keep all your drying towels, mitts, micro fiber towels, pads, brushes and buckets clean as dirt dust and grit is the enemy to your paint.

Whilst I admire your effort and conviction to the job, I'm outsourcing my detailing service as usual, having it done tommorow :D

How long did this process take, did you do it one one hit or over a few day period?

It took me two days to do it SJ-RS4. I must admit you can't beat getting it done by a detailer, and the older I am getting the more i think i will get someone in to do it.
