Privacy Glass and the Sun

Post by euroscooby » Fri May 30, 2008 12:15 pm

Hi

I am now the proud owner of twins to go with my motor.

The wife has asked if the Audi fitted privacy glass has any sun protection built in? I have no idea and it seemed with 3 week old girls best to check!

Any advice welcome.

many thanks

Andy

Congratulations Andy and welcome to sleepless nights!!

Interesting question, I know on my old car that when I had aftermarket tints done, one of the selling points was it had sun protection. I have OEM privacy on my RS but I also use the side blind for my 3 month old

Twins, Congratulations !!! noooooooo problem, I've got 12 year old triplets, 2 girls and a boy.

Take it from me, you'll need someone to sleep over at your house for the overnight feeds, so as you both get a good nights' sleep, and get them into a routine of a sleep in the afternoon so to give your wife a break during the day. AHH memories

Your lives will never be the same again but I wouldn't be without them, taking them away this weekend on my own, divorced now, love it !!

Sorry, no idea on privacy, just keep the air con on full blast !!

Good luck

Victor - sorry a bit of the subject but do you know if you can fit an isofix seat in the middle rear seat?

Simon,

Sorry mate it was 12 years ago they were always in wife's VW Sharan, didn't want to risk them puking up in my M3 at the time.

Why not post it as new topic ?

Thanks for the congratulations. Managed to find a night nanny a couple of nights a week to break up the sleep deprivation!

I shall lob a photo up next time I cram them in the back :)

Being a muppet today! Obviously if your children are 12 now you wouldn't have had your RS!! Sorry about that!! How do you get on with 3 12 year olds in your RS now? I think I would tell them its a 2 seater!!!!

Conclusive proof that baby seats can be shoehorned into the back of an RS4 B7 Avant with a 6ft 3in driver!

I was under the impression any windows will block out UV, but I might be wrong. Certainly my two have never got sunburnt in the back.

Also the middle rear seat definitely doesn't have isofix; my wife somehow manages to squeeze in between the two baby seats on either side!!

They do - that's why photochromic glasses don't go dark when you're in a car.

This is a problem I have - I have to keep the baby seat on the passenger side as the top forward edge of the Maxi-Cosi seat hits my seat back before it is back far enough
