Keep an eye on your cars..

Post by Aerovant » Thu May 29, 2008 7:27 pm

Might just want to keep an eye on your cars. Had my rear window smashed three weeks ago (cover was pulled across the rear) - they stole a few items. Had the window replaced only to have my passenger window smashed last week (different location).

I think this time they tried to steal the car. They used what looks like a screwdriver but were foiled by the double glazed glass that I optioned the car with. Must say this worked amazingly well. Both sheets of glass were shattered, but they could not get through.

Car has been of the road now for over a week as I'm having to wait for replacement glass from Germany.

Think I'm going to sell her now. She seems to be getting a lot of unwanted attention..

Mayfair, central London! and the second time literally on the corner of Mayfair Police station... So pissed off. There is still glass everwhere from the first break-in.

I don't think I was targeted - Just coincidence I'm sure. The first break in was to steal whatever may have been in the boot - a bag and jacket, iPod, etc. I got a phone call from a business in Ealing saying that they found my cheque book in front of their premises.

I really think the second break in was to steal the car. Was so upset I almost smashed the car on the way home. I didn't even want to see the car in the morning. In fact, I haven't seen it in over a week..

sorry to hear that buddy, they are just scum, is your car parked out side where you work, did CCTV pick any thing up, Mayfair has a lot of high market clients, business etc etc, so there must be CCTV footage somewhere!

Thank you. Car has been fixed. Coming back tonight so will see how they have fixed it. There is still glass loose in the tailgate so everytime I close it, I can hear glass moving around. May have to take the lining of it to remove it all. Hoping that the passenger door doesn't have the same problem.

Can anyone recommend where I can get scratches repaired? - When the rear window was broken, it scratched the paintwork below and the bumper. Pain in the butt. Now also need to have the rear window tinted again. It's the hassle of it all that annoys me most of all.

Thanks for all your comments guys - really appreciate it..
