The backpressure in the manifolds are not too bad, if you measure it on a decatted 520-540bhp car there is more to come before they become the restrictive component. The stage 2 turbos are clearanced to help with the back pressure issue. The stock manifolds are a 4 into 1 design so are not as bad a design as b5 2.7t cars. For 5K you are not going be able to afford manifolds as well as turbos. For 5k you would be looking at doing a couple of turbos (£2600+v), Downpipes (550+v), injectors, (395+v), 10 bar fuel pump(£250+v),labour and remap and so looking at close to 5.5k+vat

Then of course you either have a torque limited car on the stock box or get a manual conversion from grizz and get a strengthened gearset/bearings to try and keep the gears in one piece.

I cant actually think of a worse car to track, how many tyres and brake pads did you go through?
Thanks for the vote of confidence. :D As for the consumables, none; and I wanted to find the car's limits without endangering other road users. I did however exceed the OEM brakes abilities. I hated my track time in an Exige as it felt gutless in comparison to other cars I have driven (Noble, Lamborghinis, Jags, Ferraris, Astons, Mercs etc). At least I really enjoyed driving the '6.

I'm thinking on getting a Caterham 7 CSR260 for pure track abuse but that will have to wait till there is more space on the drive. For now I will drive the '6 (occasionally) and have some fun - after I've upgraded the brakes of course ;-).
