Clive - welcome back...
I agree with you on so many points but for me the B5 is showing its age (although it still looks glorious) and you can't deny that the interior on the B7 is leaps and bounds ahead of the B5. RE performance, you have to compare similiarly spec'd cars. Std vs std etc. The B5 was the car to have when new, IMO the B7 is the the car to have currently. You can spedn as much as you want tuning and modifing both cars, in the end it all comes down to cost. In that race the B5 wins as there are more gains to be had for less money.
As I have now had the B7 for over a year and covered some 30k miles in it. I love it death and although I thought about selling her and changing for a B5, I am pleased I did not. For me the B7 is the car to have. Either way both will be icons, just like the original UR quattro and the original Cosworth and so on.....

Thanks Rob
Glad to hear you're still enjoying the RS4.
I respect your views, and some good points made. Whilst I agree that the interior of the B7 puts the B5 to shame in many respects, for me that's all part of the charm or 'soul' as Clarkson would say.
Now the ur quattro....that's for another thread...

Hi all Iv'e been reading this thread right through and I suppose every one has there own opinions. I would just like to say Ste(T5) is a very good friend of mine and he likes his cars same has all of us on here...Ive drove his Rs4 but it was a long time ago when it was running without Nos at about 550bhp and even then it was stupid, the brakes where grinding like hell
ive not been in his current car (my06 M5) yet but ive not seen him for abit, If ppl are still dis-believing then I can oblige and take some pics if ste wants. Im sure ppl now know that ste is not a little school boy posting from his teachers PC, so his pc skills are not the best but Ive seen worse grammer on forums that ive been on. Just as a side note his T5-r is very quick the last time I was in it Ste had lent it me when my Focus ST225 was in for a service.

This has certainly been an enlightening thread to say the least. I have enjoyed it from the start. I too have re read T5's posts to get a clearer understanding of his opinions with some degree of success. Coming from a modding background myself (in the days when I had scoobies and beemers) can anyone shed some modding ideas for my toyota aygo?
RS6 (MRC'd with econodrive) is not just for Xmas
