Autocar - more speculation on the New RS4
Autocar - more speculation on the New RS4
Autocar says the new S4 currently being tested at the ring has a V6 supercharged engine and that Audi "insiders" say the next RS4 out in 2011 will retain a V8. Didn't say if that would be turbo charged or not!

That's some wait. However, that should serve to keep the used values of the B7 in decent shape.

RE: Autocar - more speculation on the New RS4
indeed - was very pleased to read that date. B7 residuals will hold stedy and by the time the new model comes in the price differential will be such that buyer market will be different, ie £30k B7 vs £55k B8, so the new one won't hit residuals of the old one much

2011 - loving that!

However, that means the Audi dont really have anything to take on the BMW's & Merc's at the new end of the showrooms for the next 3 years. That seems a bit extreme to me, No?
What's the strategy behind this?

The same as the strategy for RS models always has been ....Norrs2 wrote:What's the strategy behind this?
RS models are introduced ONLY in the last 1-2 years of a model range life.

Although this may change, look at the S5 that was from launch so although what Dave says is very true up to now, it may well change in the future. Not really sure if that is a good or bad thing. for now I'm happy my car is current and will be for at least a couple of years......
Current car..... hmmmmm????

Audi have always said they will only make one RS model at a time hence the current trend that in the last 8 years has been RS4-RS6-RS4-RS6, what is to come next I do not know, whether they'll stick with the 4's or move to the A5 I don't know. Personally I dont think an RS model of the TT will ever surface so my money is on either an A4 or an A5Norrs2 wrote:Thought you mightpippyrips wrote:2011 - loving that!![]()

RS5, now there's a car worth waiting for (if Audi GMBH doesn't drop the ball).
