Pain avoidance - but only temporarily

Post by Dippy » Fri Oct 03, 2003 10:24 am

I was supposed to be having a vasectomy at about 10 this morning. As you can imagine I was pretty psyched up for it! Then at 8 the clinic phone to cancel it.

A mixture of disappointment and relief. But only temporarily - I'm committed to having the snip sometime soon

No more rubber or less PMT. It is a good choice. Except the wife can still get pregnant...

It takes some months to ensure that all the tubes are flushed out but I'm sure you can work out the best way of reducing that time........

Have a general, not a local. Best advice you'll ever get.

Dippy, I've just read about the operation and I would indeed feel "psyched up".
Although in one of the first sites brought by Google, http://www.vasectomy-information.com/faq/faq.htm, there's a poll that shows the large majority found it less painful than dental/root work and most disconfort goes within a few days.
In any case, it's a very respectful and honorable way to share the responsibility/burden with the missus that most of us probably wouldn't consider.

It was the thought of feeling them doing their stuff that scared me so I went for the general.

Not a problem after, up and about straight away, sore for a few days and I had forgotten about it after a couple of weeks.

Thanks for sharing you feelings with us Dave and I hope the above offers a little encouragement to you

There you go again - showing off.

The very thought of it fills me with panic. I'd rather be celibate.

And Riz - you needn't worry about your little dick mate - its your big balls they're after
