Steering Vibration

Post by djcromie » Mon Apr 28, 2008 11:33 am

Hello All, need some advice

My 2000 S6 has a slight vibration through the steering wheel when on full lock at slow speed, when turning right, theres also a faint squeakin noise. It doesn't shudder under braking and theres no noticeable vibration at speed. I had the wheels rotated and balanced over the weekend and there's was no play from the wheels when they were off the ground.

Any ideas before I head off to the garage, just worried they'll take the piss once they hear S6

Cheers

Mark

Hi,

I suffered a similar problem with my 4.2 which has 18" comp OEM alloys. Like you I had them balanced twice with no reprieve. A couple of months ago I had them refurbished and it was here that a slight flat spot was discovered on the inside rim edge of a front wheel. He straightened for about £30 and now it drives superbly.

Good luck.

Tony
