Recall
Recall
Hi, does anyone know of a series of recalls published today for the R8? Mine went in today to swap out one of the wheels (as arranged when I bought the car) just had a call to say that Audi have just issued recalls and they need to keep the car for 3-4 days...ive not even had it 2 weeks and needless to say i am mighty pissed off! Am I being fed BS anyone know?
RE: Recall
Hi sbor
i take it from you thread that you have a april 08 reg car . if so very strange ?
i know that the first cars have had gearbox software upgrades ,the blades had to have foam pads changed to stop wind noise
below is a chap on another forum who's car's been in
Sept 07
Took the car in for the recall. It included an ECU update (7 hrs), Bluetooth software update, fitting of foam pads behind the blades to reduce wind noise, and a general check of all brake lines and breather pipes. The reason for the length of time for the ECU upgrade is that it's done online from Germany rather than by the local dealer. They also fixed the buzz from my rear speaker which had been caused by someone not fixing it to the bulkhead.
let us know if there is anything different
what car have they loaned you should be S8 S6 or RS4

RE: Recall
My car is at Audi Uk for a couple of weeks - so will keep you up to date with what they have done to it. I will also enquire on recall issues and report back.
They have kindly lent me an R8 for the period it is there

What's wrong with your can then jon if its going to take a couple of weeks to fix

RE: Recall
The car was registered in Nov 07, I bought it pre-owned from them only two weeks ago so it worries me that the 100 (or so) point check that they do is worthless if they missed that it needs an ecu upgrade! I persuaded them to give it back for the weekend and its going back in today, so not sure what they'll give me yet, I've asked for an R8 of course.

RE: Recall
Mozza.. Mine has several issues, at the moment I won't disclose what they are, however Audi UK have been very good and the car is in very capable hands, that I am sure. It does mean some serious 'surgery' to the car though.

i don't blame you for keeping quiet about your unfortunate problems
at least you can put lots of miles on there car instead of yours
