Generally people consider 20-25% to be the drivetrain losses for a 4wd car. 28% is probable on the high side and 13% is certainly low, although AmD used to use 45% on a regular basis !. The torque figures on the sheets maybe at the the crank or at the wheels, it's not clear from the paperwork itself.

I think they were a bit high to be at the wheels Jeff. Even adding 13% would put me on 522ish!!

Forgot to say thanks Brett...nice to meet you at last :beerchug:

I think the torque is calculated crank figures as well.

Thanks to Brett and all at Perfect Touch for running a great day. 419.2BHP engine power so that is right on the nose for a Stage 1 remap. 440.7 lbft (597Nm) of torque which I am quite pleased about as that is over MRC's quoted figure. Graham

ok some standard figures for passenger cars on drive train loss are 3%-8% per transmission in line, in ours they are 3 in line gearbox, torsen, open diff that makes it 9%-24%. cars with a viscous like the s3 would only have 2 transmission losses fwd, and 3 in 4wd mode. when calculating from the RR wheel diameter, car axel weight , the tyre's ability to cause friction, even rotational mass should also be considered to get closer to what it should be, so measuring at the crank itself is more to the point really if that is what is wanted. the RR gives a good comparison of a cars ability to put power down vs. other cars on the day as we know thats about it

I know i'm asking too much here but would be a nice sticky to include BHP, Torque and what mods are needed to give you this result.

(p.s. have been watching the results come through and have to admit there is some amazing results there lads....congrats to all)

I think around 200-205BHP is about right at the wheels for a stock car. What did Paz (RS4 intercoolers only) get at Thorney?
Present: 2010 Ice silver B8 S4 s-tronic saloon (standard)
