Sorry Dunc I disagree, the Bridgestone tyres were excellent. How else do you think Button was pullin p1/p2 before his engine let go?
Too much is bad.
Plenty is better.

Button was a pitstop down. He still had an extra one to make at that point. BTW, an excellent drive by Jenson, and he could wll have pulled third place out of it.

I thought he drove like a bit of a muppet a lot of the time. There was a point midway where he had to let through a battle for 2nd to 4th, and somehow he managed to spectacularly get right in the way of a good fight. The only reason he did well was because he was lucky that he stopped just at the right time to take intermediates, and then the bridgestones he was on were perfectly suited to the drying conditions. Basically he saved a stop, which at the brickyard is a BIG deal. Long pit lane, short lap. You're talking about half a lap lost in the pits. But now that little German oik is virtually guaranteed the championship. Come on Raikkonnen!!!

Rock on

Can you imagine what is going through Schumachers' mind now? Raikkonen is the only threat left to another title Schu is going to be running all possible race scenarios through his brain, and over the next two weeks he will determine exactly where will be the best possible corner to take Raikkonen out if the championship doesnt look like its going his way.

This is why Schu is lauded among team owners, and paid so much. He is a hell of a driver, but more than that. He will do anything it takes to win

If McLaren have anything about them at all, knowing, as they do about Schumachers previous record, then team orders of the strictest nature will be issued to the shovel - headed one :"take Schumacher out early on, before he punts off Kimi". This will be the best move Coulthard could make. In the twilight of his career, this could well buy him a few more years, since he will be respected for still being a team player.

Ferrari could well second guess this move, mind, and order Barichello to do the same to DC. Its gonna be carnage out there, I tell ya....

On the strength of this Raikkonen is deffo worth a few quid.......

However, I could well be wrong. Thanks for reading

So, was that Coulthard practising yesterday ? In case anyone isn't aware, the black rubber on Schumachers sidepod came from DCs tyres when DC was either a little optimistic or just a bit sh!te and lost control Either way, an interesting scenario would have resulted had he been taken out of the race. One Ferrari falls victim to Juan Pinball in a Williams and the other to DC in McLaren... Now that would have raised some interesting discussions given the points situation.

He did not overtake under yellow flags, it was about 50 meters before they showed the flag!

Its soooooo boring. Bring back the real drivers - Peterson, Rindt, Stewart, Everso Biggerballdees, Senna. Amon - pity some of them are no longer with us.

What about the Rally Championship? Now that is interesting.
Standard RS4 (is it the only standard one left?)

Schumacher was actually clear of Panis when he passed the waved yellow. The sporting regualtions state that overtaking is not permitted between the yellow flag marking the start of the zone, and the green flag marking the end. There are plenty pictures to back this up...
