Post by jonp » Sun Apr 06, 2008 3:49 pm

Just to let anyone know, we had a meeting today at the Wicked Lady in Wheathampstead - 3 R8s attended, plus and Rs4 B7

Great to see all you guys, here are a couple of pics. It would be great to see more of you next time - we are planning a run in the cotswolds.

I'd be up for tagging along in the RS4... might have to leave the "passenger seat speed limiter" behind for that one though

Actually...no

It was from South Wales, it came through all the snow. For the moment I am still regularly cleaning it, but not sure how long that will last

Hi Guys.
I bought an Ex Audi management R8 from my friends at Vindis in Bedford yesterday. I'll be collecting it on May 2nd.
I think it's time we arranged another meeting....! ;-)

Hey - fantastic

I have suggested a meeting on the 11th May - what do you think - II have posted it in the trackday/meeting section of this forum and also on R8Talk

Looking forward to seeing it

11th sounds good to me... any excuse to drive it really! The spec is quite impressive, although the mileage is relatively high (12K).... I did get a sensible trade in on the RS though which sealed the deal, plus they're sorting every stonechip before delivery. It's still in the showroom, so if you're passing through Bedford...!

Hopefully the weather will be better on the 11th, and a few more can make it along.....

I was in Northampton Audi negotiating a service deal this morning, but If I'm passing I'll drop by.

Sounds a similar spec to mine, from your R8Talk post.

I have negotiated 10% off both parts and labour, for your info.

I wouldn't worry about the mileage - the engines run forever

The mileage issues were more general wear and tear... especially tyres. That's why I'm getting then to do the cosmetics before collection. They're also doing the first service as part of the deal too. I'm expecting to see at least 200k miles on the V8!
That 10% could add up, and would be well worth having.

Thanks JBW....
I didn't have any Carbon Fibre on my 'wish list', but it does work well with the silver paintwork. It's quite nice inside too! Same goes for the Alcantara roof lining, looks ace!

I did not time to have a good look round-which RS did you trade in-there was a lovely black one around the back.

Sounds like you have some good contacts at Vindis-one of the better dealers so far.

I'm actually dropping off my Red, 2006 RS4 tomorrow afternoon.
I'm hoping to get some pics of my R8 while I'm there.....
Vindis Bedford do seem pretty good. I've not used many Audi dealers, but they seem very relaxed and competent so far.
