Hello All
I've just joined your forum...
I've had my Black S4 4.2 Avant since Sept 1st and have put about 3.8K miles on it so far.
Having migrated from a A4 2.5 TDI Quattro Avant (33/41ish MPG) the fuel consumption would always be a bit of a shock.
My current average MPG with the S4 is 22.8 over 1500 miles which I find acceptable considering what's under the bonnet.
I believe I have a moderate driving manner with the occasional 'Yee Ha' moment when conditions permit.
I can improve the MPG on the longer motorway runs up to approx 26/27 with the persistent use of the cruise control.
My TTC 225, by the way, averages about 27/29 MPG over the same period and conditions (Mid/late 30s on motorway).
I am very happy with the drivability of the car and it stimulates me just as much as the TT but with different dynamics.
One thing that I really admire is its almost understated visual impact. You may think I'm mad but in this speed trap and closely traffic police monitored age, it's not a great idea to paint a target on the front of your car…..IMO

Hi Riz
The figures are straight off the DIS.
The main difference might be the 30min drive to work on some great south western roads with minimal traffic.

Yes its the sub 5min drive to work and back that kills my mpg. But thats one of the downsides of owning a turbo-charged car..... but it makes up for it in other area`s.
I know your new on here but have you considered coming to the rs246.com trackday? im going to be going but you dont need to go on the track if you dont want to.... just a chance to meet the guys and check the cars out.
It`ll be my 2nd meets
