S4 Avant rear bumper removal

Hi there,

Just bought an S4 Avant and have done a fair bit of reading on this site. First off, I have done a search on the subject and found a few posts but nothing specific enough.

I am trying to get the rear bumper off my S4 Avant to fit a towbar but I have got stuck at the first step of removing the damn bumper!

I have read the "instructions" in the workshop manual and got to the stage where the 4 main bolts in the boot are removed, and the torx screws in the wheel arch's are out too, so its just the clip on each side that needs to come out.

My question is... how the #&%¤ do you get that clip apart!!! I have tried everything.. pull the bumper out, out and down, out and up, forwards, backwards, sprayed it with WD40 to try and make it release easier, been under there with a pry bar trying to seperate the clip while my girlfriend pulls outwards on the bumper but all to no avail. Damnthing stays stuck there.

Anyone actually attempted to get tha bumper off??????

Once this is done its onto removing the rear diff and replacing the seals as its leaking...should be a walk in the park compared to removing this damn bumper!
