Why not? You say elsewhere that man has a brain (but needs to start using it) so is it not just conceivable that this complex brain might be capable of determining what is right and wrong...??

Also you cannot use genes and chemicals to explain emotions like love, hate, anger, happiness, envy etc. These emotions and many others clearly run deeper than a body full of chemicals mate.

Again - why not? What proof do you have of your second assertion??

Let me give you an everyday example : dare I ask if you have ever had an alcoholic drink? Well, if you have, you will have experienced the effect that the little cocktail of chemicals has on both the body and the brain. It has also been known to have been responsible for a phenomenon known as "beer goggles". If you haven't, just take a random sample of those who do partake in an alcoholic beverage and ask them to confirm the effect.

As I mention before man has the capacity to get himself out of the mess that he is in without ANY super natural intervention. He just needs to start using his brain instead of focusing on what is in his pants all the time. This is man's mess, not God's so let man clean it up. Suffering and injuries in the world are because of man, what has God got to do with any of it....nothing.

If what you say is correct, and your god created man in his image, why did he make such a mess of his creation??

The law called "The Conservation Of Angular Momentum" states that if an object is spinning in a certain direction say clockwise, any pieces that fly off will spin clockwise in the same direction. If the big bang theory is true and everything exploded from thsi little tiny dot into space, why do we have at least 2 planets spinning backwards. Not only that but some of the moons orbiting these planets are spinning backwards also. Kinda hard on your big bang theory.

This theory relates, as you point out, to pieces that "fly off" from an object. It does not deal with objects which might collide with one another. Nor does it deal with the initial big bang and the direction objects may take at the outset.

Looking at it another way, if your god (or anyone else's for that matter) created the universe, why would he have made the majority of objects spin in a clockwise manner, and then got up one day and thought "oh, I know what I'll do today - I'll send these 2 spinning the other way"...??

Ive got a problem with this whole 'design' issue. From what i have read here against evolution, if something looks like its been designed, human eyes, complex organisms etc then apparently only God could have put them here or something along those lines. Well surely God is a complex being as he has free thought and can do these amazing things - who the hell made him? Thats where i see this whole design/ creation thing falling down! Who created the creator??

And i apologise now if i have missed something or over simplified things. And its refreshing to see someone of a religious belief aruging thier point without threats and personal insults.

No threats or insults here, just healthy debate. For my part, I have every respect for other people's beliefs, even if they are completely wacko...

@JohnW - I'm sure that Blower's occupation will be of much relevance - he's clearly completely and utterly dedicated to his beliefs.

As for Canada, it's a lot less crazy than some of the US states in terms of 'god bothering'. BC and Alberta are pretty laid back in most respects, including religion. Quebec, as you might expect, is a mixture but predominantly catholic.
