I have the KW v3 with the Nurburgring settings (No idea what they are as they were installed by Sports Tech). The settings came from KW. The ride is quite hard, but that's the way I like it. Not much to add really, except I have no more DRC woes. I haven't moved forward on the Audi front as there has been change of structure in Audi UK, and apart from that I've been busy.

I have just had my DRC removed and replaced wsith KW v3 shocks. The car is Jan 03 reg and has 65K on the clock. I have had the DRC system replaced twice and was informed by the dealer in Feb that it was leaking yet again!!!!! and needed half the system replacing. The service dept at the dealer suggested KW or Bilstein and put me in touch with a specialist garage. The car now sits lower and gives a harder ride! Do i need to get the shocks adjusted as they start to bed in??

if your ride is hard then yes !

The KW V3 is 3 way adjustable so you can set the car up as you want it.

Mine sits a bit lower but is not too firm.

Depending on who fitted it might be show removal to adjust the top settings. West drilled a small hole though my top mount so I can change the settings with ease.

Does leaking DRC mean MOT failure by the way? KW's are the way forward i think. Has anyone tried fitting Air Ride to an RS6 before?

Mine passed sn MOT with screwed DRC. An MOT tests for movment in the wrong direction. i.e slackness from wear.

If it was leaking big time then think it might fail but they only seem to weep a bit until the pressure drops and the shocks knock.
Because the springs are so hard i couldnt make my car make the noise when it was stationary.

I just bought my second RS6 recently from a non franchised dealer in Sunningdale. An '04 Misano red Avant. Before I bought the car I checked the car and looked for the things that one should look for when buying an RS6. I pointed out all the items that needed seeing to to them and we came to an agreement. I ended up paying more for the car but on the basis I'd have had to pay more from a franchised dealer the extra payment made sense to get the additional work done, I ended up buying a better car. Besides, how on earth is a non specialised dealer meant to know everything about all cars. To them cars are a commodity, to us mugs they are a 'bad habit' (ok, call it a passion) So we ought to as the old latino said 'Caveat Emptor' know your stuff or get good advice when buying a performance car. Ignore and it's an expensive error.
Within a day of ownership I realised something further was up. It transpired that the front passenger shock had a leak and it would require replacing. A shock absorber, surely just a couple of quid? Eh, no.
Problem was, each bump I went over felt like the car was a cut and shut job, two cars badly welded to form one!. It really shuddered badly. After a second Audi opinion they quickly knew what the problem was. DRC.

Thanks also to this site I discovered that the problem I was experiencing was also being experienced by other RS6 Avant drivers. It was purely coincidental that two guys at Camberley Audi are regualr visitors to this site and that the sunningdate garage were also customers of Camberley Audi. I noted their comments. Cut a long story short I had a word with the Suningdale dealer and they were very accommodating. They sorted the matter out for me via the team at camberley.

I drove away this afternoon from Camberley Audi service section with a new belief in customer service. Thanks Guys! great job. The car feels 100% different. I can't say I rated the 3.2 Audi A6 courtesy car highly, but that's another story.

Off to Eurodisney with the rug rats tomorrow morning! only thing sitting in my mind a comprehensive warranty: £2,700. Is my Sunningdale dealer supplied AA 5* enough?

Good morning all. I posted a similar survey over on rs4. I didnt think to look here but wow that is a lot of problems. If you have a look I have posted a draft letter to Audi. Im sure someones already done the same but I was thinking of including a copy of the RS6 survey as well and including a further paragraph in the letter. Would anyone have a problem with this, also any constructive comments would be appreciated. Thanks.
