Daytona B7 RS4 Avant STOLEN - Birmingham 3/4
A friend told me that he's heard a report of an RS4 stolen at gunpoint from a Jaguar dealership in Birmingham yesterday.
Just searched Autotrader and there it is still advertised as for sale by Stratstone Jaguar.

Something similar happened at Hatfield a couple of years back although no gun. Like any desirable car, the scumbags will go to extraordinary lengths to get what they want.
There is a lot to be said for fitting tracking devices.

I was thinking about fitting a seperate discreet real time tracker. In the event, I would go round to where the car is with some boys and kick the living <beep> out of them.

Be a nosey b*stard and ring the dealership to ask if it is still for sale. See what they say.

Don't laugh... in my student days I was seriously interested in a dark blue Nissan 200SX. Test drove it and went away to think about it. Walked in to the showroom a couple of days later and asked where it was...
Only to get really dodgy/uncomfortable looks and eventually the manager came out to tell me it had been stolen from their lockup
It felt like I was being interviewed, because I could tell that all the other staff were listening in.
It was back for sale a few weeks later but I decided if it was that easy to nick, it was best left where it was...

Just heard it on good authority that 2 men in balaclavas entered the dealership (a Jaguar dealer in Erdington near J5 M6) one held a gun to a salesman and made him get the keys, the other pointed the gun at the staff in the showroom.
Not sure it's the grey one advertised but it did happen at the dealership advertising it so too much of a coincidence.

My original source whi I think heard it on the radio said they had come in a Focus ST which they had just taken from a woman so that must have been the white Focus left at the scene.
There was an appeal on the police web site which came up on googling "audi theft armed birmingham jaguar" but that's no longer live so maybe it's been recovered ..?

Worrying trend really - cos the only way to steal these cars is to have the keys (or use a low-loader) which means the scumbags have to get the keys off you by whatever means they deem necessary.

This is the type of crime the B7 seems to be very popular for;
http://www.bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcest ... ture.shtml
I am sure the B7 is much more desirable to thieves for use in other crimes as it blends in with traffic a lot more than the B5 especially when in a sober colour - also it's going to be reliable at that age.

Best Keep your doors Locked when driving then, otherwise may get car jacked, or get them flame throwers fitted under the sills like they use in south africa,

Keeping your doors locked won't help if a toerag is pointing a gun at you.
Get an anti-jacking alarm system and a tracker fitted.

I'm told if they do get a car they know they're prob going to have tracker fitted so they strip them out as fast as possible then just leave them.
