Honest answer is I dunno Jimbo - all I know is that my car runs great with the BMC, and I have no MAF problems.

From what I remember of the graph plots comparing the filters the BMC curve was above all of the others pretty much across the entire rev range (i.e. it showed higher g/s flow)

Works well for me and Paz .... will it work for you? ... who knows!

Hardly a guinea pig ... me and Paz both have one already! (and Phil has one on order)

Good idea to do some logs - be good to see if your measurements show a higher flow than the paper.

There's a link further back in this thread to an online seller of BMC filters - if you order today you may get next day delivery ... other than that I wouldn't know where to get one.

No not a guinea pig exactly just referring to Nige and Graham who are currently sitting on the fence!

Anyway part now ordered from Edworthys £40.98 including VAT and delivery.

If it arrives tomorrow i will post results that evening if not it will be Teusday or Wednesday.

Well done Jimbo!

Let us know how it goes. I think my local Edworthys is gone now, I think they have gone internet only.

If IPA is Carb Cleaner then yes! or thats what ive been using. Generally change air filter and clean MAF every 5k the the oem paper version as with holes in the airbox it gets dirty pretty quick. Can you clean the BMC version, because replacing that on such a regular basis would prove expensive.

@ Graham will definately post results ASAP

You sure can - and you wouldn't need to replace as often as a paper filter anyway.

Won't have a chance to fit it and do any logs for a few days as we are of to France on Friday to slap on some ski's , but will report back on our return.

Just fitted my BMC panel filter... and did some logs.

Was getting around 220g/s before, now around 227g/s. Car also feels smoother and pulls a little stronger.... even with the 20 degree heat outside.

Overall, very happy and for 40 quid, recommend it to anyone.

Great increase from a filter.

I am wondering if any of our site sponsors can supply these and the chance of a group buy?

So, a 7g/s improvement from dirty paper to clean BMC and 7g/s (thank you Julian) improvement from dirty paper to clean paper filter.

Perhaps someone should do a comparison with a brand new paper filter versus one of these panel filters...

Since when did 267>274 = an increase of 9? I make it 7 ... or has maths changed since I were a lad?
