I hope to feed on the knowledge from the hardcore trackday regular`s. [img]images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]
It will be my first time on a track...... im confident in my driving but know im no track driver.
I just dont want to damage my car...... is there anything i should know apart from what Andy mentioned about the brakes giving up after 4-5laps of hard driving.

My plan is to go out for a few laps then come in and rest.... what is the bestway to keep engine temps adequate and let the car breath alittle.

Is there any S3 characteristic`s i should be aware of i.e. rear end lightness etc under heavy braking?

I`ve done powerslides in the wet before and felt they were pretty easy to handle [img]images/graemlins/boots.gif[/img] I have 5mm grip left on all four tyres, can my tyres also get too hot on the track?

Riz, and any other first timers contemplating this :

I'm no expert, but the important thing is not to get too worked up / over excited / nervous. This isnt racing. Thats for people with the kind of natural talent few of us possess.

This is more about genuinely enjoying yourself and the car, something thats increasingly ahrd to do on our congested public roads. Its about gradually getting to know a circuit and its lines during the day, and hopefully driving it quicker and better at the end of that day than when you started. Its great knowing that no one is coming towards you from the opposite direction.

There are old threads on this site about do's and donts on trackdays, so apart from saying always do a slow cool down lap before coming in, I wont go through them again here.

Just enjoy. Be good to see new cars / faces on track.
