Newbie's questions

Post by StevoS4 » Mon Mar 03, 2008 8:03 pm

Hi all

First off can i just say hello to everyone from a new S4 owner.

I did read quite a lot of the posts before taking their plunge and buying this car, so thanks to everyone for the info.
Ok so now I have this little beast could I put a few questions to you all.

First LPG or not, now I know I am probably going to get flamed for even thinking this but has anyone here had their S4 LPG'ed or know of anyone that has?

Secondly I have been looking about for a warranty to cover any unforeseen silly bill's and have got quite a good quote off Warranty Direct anyone had any dealings with these guys and was the service good or not?

Also im looking at upgrading my RNS-D to a RNS-E anyone know if it’s an easy job or something I should steer clear of?

Ok sorry to throw a load of questions to you but any help would be massively appreciated.
BTW my S4 is a 53 plate Tip saloon.

Hi mate

With reguards to the lpg, i think someone on the rs6 forum was on about it saying it's not a good idea with these kind of engines. If i remember it did quite alot of damage to an rs6?

Dunc
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

IIRC the B6 S4 did not come with RNS-D. Only RNS-E

A simple check is the disc. if its a DVD then it's RNS-E. A CD-ROM and it's RNS-D.

Production of B6 S4 started with RNS-D and they changed for RNS-E.
That is the reason why it is quite easy to replace RNS-D by RNS-E.
I have done it.

Hi mate, yeah i ended up taking out a warranty with them, seemed a resonable deal.

Ended up paying £510 for 13 months with max claim amount of value of car, includes wear and tear which was a reason why i went for it tbh i was a little concerned most faults would be blamed on wear and tear with the other warranty companies out there.

Only time will tell if i have made the right choice :D

All i can say at this point is what an awesome car!!

Pricing up a milltek system and possibly an amd stage 2 re map as we speak
