 it reads like I was bragging. Sorry. I was trying to say you could buy those figures for the cost of a standard rs4.
S4 - no longer missing 1 engine. Last seen leaving trailing black lines of gearbox oil.

ASH,
I had the same problem , ko4 s4 that i was doing a wide body conversion on . I was about to spend 10-15k on it to make a 600bhp s4/rs4 .Then on day i decided it was daft to spend that much on a car , as it was more than it was worth  . So i sold my spare parts and got the rs6 . 8)
I did want a rs4 but to spend 25k on a car that was almost the same as mine seemed a bit mad. :?
If you do it you will have a very special car .. :beerchug: :kissmyrings:

at the end of the day your just paying extra for the rs4 badge which ever way you look at it,i would rather spend the extra on the s4,you can give it as much power as you like for the extra badge money

You seem to all be missing the point??? You need to pay an absolute fortune to mod an S4 to 500ish?? Sell it and you will hardly get any of that back.

Take that mod money, buy an RS4 which will retain its value, spend just a few '000 get the power close enough to 500.

It is a no brainer simple. Only downside is it is an avant.

Like i said , put it to another car , and 500bhp is only a remap away on a rs6 . 8)

True Grizz, and they've now broken the sub £20k barrier.

Although some folk won't want the larger car and the handling that goes with it.

If money, or more accurately, the return at resale time is king then forget it - tuning the s4 is financial suicide.

ZeroKKK is dead right. Tuning is a one way street, you never see much back.
Grizz too, although I can't say I see an RS6 in my future.

There's got to be another way? You could sell up and buy a 500 bhp S4 for not much more, certainly a lot less than starting from scratch.

Getting an S4 to 500bhp is bound to ceate a lot of exhaust noise (thinking of Doug's car here) and noise attracts attention - much of it unwelcome I would guess. Part of the beauty of these cars is their stealthiness?

Leon - there's a point here...how much would you accept for your car/ho much is it worth and therefore what have you lost in terms of the modding costs?
