I came from a 987s at a time when they were supposed to of cured this yet I still had it. Its an expensive fix outside of warranty, aprox 800 from an indy luckily mine was under warranty.scoobyc wrote:easy fix, buy a porsche that doesn't have an rms probARSEY4 wrote:Just to put this in to perspective ill chuck in Porsche and RMS!!!! and that is why boxsters dont come out too well in the warranty claim stats.![]()
Did you get anywhere? Looks like i've same issue but Aberdeen say nothing wrong. It's a knocking from drivers side suspension going over anything uneven.ChrisRS4 wrote:Cheers, will give that a try. Not sure how far I'll get unless I take it to another dealership. These guys are a bunch of money grabbing cowboys.
After some exhaustive conversations with them, my car will be heading off to Highland Audi for an assessment instead. Long story, but Aberdeen Audi won't be seeing anymore of my money.dougbmwm3 wrote:Did you get anywhere? Looks like i've same issue but Aberdeen say nothing wrong. Mine is at Wayside Milton Keynes for rebound/leaking shock. They said only one was leaking and have back ordered it from Germany. They are absolutely adament that only ONE needs replacing and NOT BOTH. I tried to tell them that I'd heard that both had to be done, but they said definately not. I didn't have the techincal knowledge to argue my point. Are they right?!!!
Take it back and phone Audi C/services, putting it on "Record"dougbmwm3 wrote:Did you get anywhere? Looks like i've same issue but Aberdeen say nothing wrong. As far as I can gather, it is THEORETICALLY possible to do one only. The problem is that if air has gotten admitted to the system it may have travelled through the central valve to the other shock. It seems best practice to do the pair. In any event, i assume that they will be putting a new central valve on (they come pressurised and so when you break the system open you lose pressure) in which case the probability of getting air admitted to the 'other' shock is high. It is possible to use the old valve if they have the VAS 6209/3 tool).
MOST important is that they have the RIGHT tools. They MUST have VAS 6209/2 (Pressure tester for RS4) tool - ask them that EXACT question - that will surprise them, and show you are serious - as this is absolutely CRITICAL to get the 15 bar setup pressure.
Mine is now with Audi UK MIlton Keynes and having all four shocks plus two central valves replaced to get this fixed once and for all.

I don't know whereabouts you are, but I'd try to get it to Aylesbury Audidom888 wrote:Mine is at Wayside Milton Keynes for rebound/leaking shock.
