Tuning Question???

Post by Mac-Logotech » Wed Mar 05, 2008 8:52 pm

Hi all, this is my very first post on this forum :P ...I am thinking about buying an RS6 but can't help myself looking at the s6 for sheer vfm. They are up for sale for such great prices I am seriously considering one. I was wondering apart from a remap ( which will prob get you an extra 20bhp) what else can be done to these machines?
I am also a bit put off by the DRC problem that everybody talks about, fuel is also a thought, dont get me wrong the 4.2 on the s6 wont be frugal but i have heard a few horror stories about the rs!!
I currently own a RR 4.4 v8 and before that was an E39 M5, so I am used to putting the juice in!!
Any info gladly appreciated, and I am looking forward to becoming an Audi owner soon...

Cheers

Mac

No DRC on S6. RS6 only.

I have an S6 and previously had an RS6.
Really happy with it so far, no persistant problems, same spec, and much cheaper !
Powerwise its quick enough out of the box, tuning options, not much to do apart from chip and zorst, but won't make as much difference as a blown RS6.
But I think you'll find it plenty quick enough already !

how do you think the s6 compares to an e39 m5 as stock?

Not as quick for one.
and not really a "drivers" car.
But also had a 530i Sport, and whilst it had good build, it was dated, cramped inside, and rwd was pants in this weather, with the DSC kicking in at every corner!

...was glad to get back into a Quatt :kissmyrings:

so its slower but a cheaper 4wd car? that looks great? I'm in two minds whether to buy another m5, or an rs4 / s6
They are all at a price I can afford, but its a hard decision!!

it depends what you want out of them and whats your priorites (space/tuning/power etc)
...why dont you have a drive of them all and then make a decision !

It would have to be an RS4, rarer then all mentioned, M5,RS6 & S6. Good round town, sooooooo tunable, good resale value, practical and usable daily. Economical compared to the rest on the list and cheaper to service.

If its a V8 your after then M5 would be my choice. Feels lighter and more nimble for V8 compared to an S6 or RS6....ive owned both and used S4woody's M5 for a day or two. If its aesthetics alone on a V8 then the RS6 is the choice.
