I bought my RS2 almost 4 months ago and I am absolutely deligthed with the car. When I bought the car the seller told me that I should let the car idle for about one minute after each journey.
Any views amongst members on whether this prolongs the life of the turbo?
Thanks,
Dean.
P.S. I would be interested in meeting up with any owners in the Surrey area.
Turbo Cooling
RE: Turbo Cooling
actually if you drive easily 5 min.before the previous thrashing, and before you stop to turn it off,you dont have to idle it for 1 min.Look at your oil temperatures.if they are around 80 degrees,or 90 it is OK to turn off.
that works only if the water temp after you turn off the ignition and reaches 110C and drops it to 90C.You can replace that temperature sender with a lower temp one,as i have done and the afterrun pump turns the water(that also goes into the turbo) and works from 90C to 80C drop. This means the afterrun pump works more often, but that is something i can live with
